Celebrating Gratitude with Violet

Violet and I are Wisconsin girls, so we are enjoying the fact that the crunch of leaves under our feet on our morning walks is shifting to the zing of the white frost she prances across that now covers the ground most mornings. We are grateful to embrace the change of the seasons and know that the coming winter offers lots of outdoor fun here in Southern Wisconsin.

As we approach the holiday season beginning with Thanksgiving next week, it suggests a moment to take pause and review all that we are truly grateful for beginning with gratitude itself, including being able to gather around the table with loved ones this year. In today’s vernacular, it’s mentioned a lot but what does it really mean?

Gratitude is a feeling of being thankful and appreciative. It’s one of many positive emotions whereby we focus on what’s good in our lives and being thankful for the things that we have. Gratitude is pausing to notice and appreciate the things that we often take for granted, like having a roof over our heads, food, clean water, friends, family and especially, here at Ann Kottler Home, a delicious hot cup of coffee or two each morning. Gratitude for us is also being able to share our talents with all of you to make your living spaces cozy and comfortable, as well as functional and beautiful. Three ways that we practice gratitude:

-Notice good things, look for them and appreciate them
-Savor and really pay attention to those good things
-Express your gratitude to yourself, jot it down, or thank someone

Thanks also to all of you who have shopped our new website feature and we want to remind you that there is still time to order from our curated collections to arrive in time for your holiday gift giving!

We are also excited to be updating our design offerings, beginning this month, with more to be added in the New Year. The initial package we are offering is available from our amazing Design Associate, Lisa Sammons. First, not only is Lisa a Rockstar in our back-office management, but she has really come into her own on the design end. We are now offering a flat fee package, to include the space planning, furniture selection, paint colors, window treatments and light fixtures for up to two rooms for $1,750. If any of you are interested in such a service with Lisa, please let us know at ann@annkottlerhome.com or lisa@annkottlerhome.com and we’re happy to share further details!

This morning we are headed to a photo shoot, and very grateful to our gracious clients to be able to do so, on a Fontana project that first became a jobsite when Violet was still a puppy in February. It’s extremely gratifying to have both satisfied clients and an amazing result. Stay tuned for this fabulous addition to the portfolio on our website. It is a collaboration we shared in with Heartstone Builders and it’s a showstopper!

Last, but not least, we wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving and are thankful for an amazing year here at Ann Kottler Home! Violet and I do our best to stay in the space of not only gratitude, but JOY! Please join us!

Happy Thanksgiving!
